Teacher Information

Throughout the website you will find information regarding our Lee County Special Olympics program.  All forms can be found in the Forms section of the website and most can be downloaded directly - if you need additional forms of any type, please contact the office as soon as possible and we will send them out to you immediately.  If you have not been receiving e-mail updates, please contact Dana Stewart to register to receive our e-mails and notifications!

Below is important information regarding our sports, deadlines for scores and t-shirt orders and other pertinent information.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Lee County office at 334-501-2939.

Important Bowling Information:  Please remember 15 practice scores are required in order to participate in the County Bowling Tournament.  If you are not able to practice at your local bowling alley, you can set-up a bowling lane in your school gymnasium.  The dimensions for the bowling lane are: From foul line to the pins is 60 feet long and the lane is 42 inches wide.  Remember - you can not use the bumpers!  If you have bowlers using a ramp for assisted bowling and need more ramps for practice, please contact our office - we have extra ramps.  If you are able to practice at a local bowling alley and need funds to pay for practice time, please contact us and we can help with payment.

Important Track and Field Information:  Please encourage your athletes to try new events!  If you are not sure how to measure or time an event, please check with your P.E. Teacher or give us a call.  There are several events offered that do not have a lot of participation, such as the Shot put Throw, 200M Run or the 4x100 Relay...these are great events for athletes to try and it gives them a great chance to medal!  Please check Page 3 of the Athletics Competition Entry Form for exception rules that pertain to certain events.

Medical and Waiver Information:  Please remember all athletes must have a current Medical and Waiver on file in our office prior to any competition.  If you are unsure if your athlete's medical/waiver is current, please contact our office and we will check the Master List.  Before submitting a medical, please check it carefully to make sure ALL items are completed and ALL signature lines have been completed.  All completed forms must be on file with our office at least five (5) days prior to the competition the athlete is competing in.

If you have any questions or are interested in participating in other sports, besides track & field or bowling, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We have several coaches and volunteers who have expressed interest in coaching other sports.  Thank you for your continued support, participation and dedication to our Special Olympics program and athletes.  If you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
