Crime Prevention

Auburn Police have adopted the principles of Community Oriented Policing by working with the members of the community to solve crime-related problems.  Crime prevention is the anticipation, recognition, and appraisal of a crime risk and the initiation of an action to remove or reduce it. The Auburn Police Division offers several crime prevention services such as house checks, business and residential surveys, neighborhood watch programs, and presentations throughout our community.  Contact a crime prevention officer for a presentation, neighborhood watch presentation, or business or home survey by calling (334)501-3116.  To request a residential security check, call the patrol captain's secretary at (334)501-3150.  After hours you may make or cancel a house check request by contacting the Public Safety Department's Communication Division at 334/501-3100.

The Auburn Public Safety Department hosts the Auburn Public Safety Academy.  This program allows citizens to come into the department and learn the details of providing services to our community.  If you would like more information about this program, please call (334)501-3110.
