Trainers at our agency are certified in various topics. They are trained and certified by the Institute of Police Management and Technology as field training officers and by the Institute for Criminal Justice Education and the Alabama Police Trainers Association as law enforcement trainers.  Upon earning a law enforcement certification from the Alabama Police Officers Training Commission at a regional police academy, each officer returns to Auburn and is assigned to various field training officers for a 16 week period of training and evaluation.  Upon successful completion of the field training officer evaluation program, each officer is placed on solo beat officer assignment.
